I thought this meme was funny but also a good reminder as I’ve heard this statement from older generations as well. Yes, it’s always nice to make extra income, and sometimes it feels like we need it to survive, but we should consider how and where this money is coming from. It is not very often that a company will absorb its extra costs. Most of the time, this extra cost will get passed on to the consumers by increasing the cost of their goods and services, and anyone who is not wise with their money will only end up in the same situation again, thinking they need another minimum wage increase so they can make ends meet. It’s a vicious cycle. Learn how you can make the most out of your money, so you do not fall victim to this thinking.

Be in charge of your own financial destiny.

An excellent book that was recommended to me by Financial Prepper was The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason. This book is about learning the foundation of how money works and the principles for building lasting wealth so you can be in charge of your own financial destiny and not at the mercy of others. As the author says, “Money is plentiful for those who understand the simple rules of its acquisition.” This means those who grasp the basic principles of earning and managing money tend to have an abundance of it. In other words, financial literacy and understanding how money works can lead to prosperity.

I feel we are all students of one another, learning from each other’s strengths and weaknesses. I am not a financial advisor, but I am continuously learning on my journey to become financially independent, and I’m passionate about teaching others how to do the same. Come learn with me so we can live our best lives and then spread our wings to help others do the same
